Can't help but wonder whether Ella is supposed to be a bit autistic. She has speech/language issues, is rejected by other harpies, is quite shy, talks in echolalia, reverses pronouns, and has a savant skill. Could just be she is supposed to be eccentric, or that the eidetic memory has affected the way she thinks. Eidetic memory doesn't usually come without some kind of brain glitch, though. Maybe it's kind of the way lots of demigods have ADHD or dyslexia from being unusual humans and not quite fitting into human society...
