Kindness International is an animal smuggling business.
After Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, and Grover Underwood retrieve Ares' shield, he fulfills his promise to give them a free ride. The ride turned out to be a Kindness International truck. They snuck in the back and saw that it was a smuggling business. The truck was carrying an albino lion, a zebra, and an antelope. It is implied that the animals are treated badly, the food for the animals weren't in the right cages, there was chewing gum in the zebra's mane, and there was a balloon string tied to the antelope's antlers. The zebra asks for Percy's help (as zebras are close enough to horses Percy can talk with them mentally) to escape and Grover can talk to the other animals. This is the first time Percy has communicated with horses and he finds this quite strange. Percy, Annabeth, and Grover let the animals out once they get to Las Vegas, with Grover blessing them with a Satyr's Sanctuary so they would be able to make it safely to the wild.
While on board the Argo II, Percy is taken to Annabeth's favorite spot on the ship, the stables below deck. When she asked him if they reminded him of anything, he says it looks like the Kindness International truck, but wonders why this is her favorite spot on the ship. Annabeth explains that the truck was the first place where Annabeth and him had really talked to each other personally.
- The name, Kindness International, is ironic because the workers have shown no kindness to the animals.
